Daddy Dearest

Daddy Dearest is the primary antagonist of Friday Night Funkin' and the first opponent the player faces. He is Girlfriend's overprotective father — a towering demon and former rock star who disapproves of Boyfriend dating his daughter. He serves as the driving force behind many of the game's conflicts.

Appearance

Daddy Dearest is a tall, imposing figure with dark purple-black hair slicked back, pale purple skin, and glowing red eyes. He wears a stylish outfit consisting of a dark suit/leather jacket combination. His design evokes a classic "cool villain" rock star aesthetic mixed with demonic features.

He stands on top of a large speaker setup during Week 1, holding a microphone. His animations are fluid and confident, befitting a former rock star with years of performing experience.

Personality

Daddy Dearest is overprotective, ruthless, and cunning. He'll go to extreme lengths to separate Boyfriend from Girlfriend, including hiring assassins (Pico in Week 3), trapping them in video games (Week 6), and directly battling them himself. Despite being a demon, he shows a softer side through his genuine love for his daughter and his relationship with Mommy Mearest.

Story Role

• Week 1: Directly confronts Boyfriend on stage, challenging him to prove his worth through three songs (Bopeebo, Fresh, Dad Battle).
• Week 3: Hires Pico to eliminate Boyfriend, though Pico decides to rap battle instead.
• Week 5: Teams up with Mommy Mearest for a Christmas duet confrontation (Cocoa, Eggnog).
• Week 6: Traps Boyfriend and Girlfriend inside a dating-sim video game.
