Pico

Pico is one of the most iconic Newgrounds characters, originally created by Tom Fulp for the 1999 Flash game Pico's School. In Friday Night Funkin', he appears as the Week 3 opponent and later as an ally in Week 7. He is Boyfriend's ex-boyfriend and was hired by Daddy Dearest to assassinate BF, though he chooses to rap battle instead.

Appearance

Pico has short, spiky orange/ginger hair and pale green eyes. He wears a green t-shirt and tan/khaki pants. His most notable accessories are the two firearms he carries — an UZI submachine gun in one hand and a pistol in the other. His design in FNF stays faithful to his classic Newgrounds appearance while being adapted to the game's art style.

Personality

Pico is tough, street-smart, and combat-hardened. Despite his violent tendencies and mercenary work, he has a strong moral compass and genuine emotions. His decision to rap battle Boyfriend instead of killing him suggests lingering feelings for his ex. He's skilled with firearms and uses them in a non-lethal (musical) context during his week.

Story Role

• Week 3: Hired by Daddy Dearest to kill Boyfriend. Instead, he confronts BF in a Philly alleyway and challenges him to a rap battle through Pico, Philly Nice, and Blammed.
• Week 7 (Stress): Returns as an ally during the final song. When Tankman's soldiers threaten Girlfriend, Pico arrives to fight them off while Boyfriend continues singing. He fights the Tankmen army in the background during the entire song.

Newgrounds Legacy

Pico is the unofficial mascot of Newgrounds.com and one of the most recognizable characters from the Flash era. He first appeared in Pico's School (1999), a point-and-click game by Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds. The character has appeared in numerous Newgrounds games and animations over the years. His inclusion in FNF serves as a loving tribute to Newgrounds heritage.

April 30th is celebrated as "Pico Day" on Newgrounds, a tradition that predates FNF by many years.
